Lemasani Safari
– A closer safari experience

Deogratias P Mwolo (Deo)
Managing Director
When I was a child, my biggest dream was to work with wildlife. I have now been lucky enough to have my passion in life as a job for more than 15 years. During the years of working as a driver guide, I dreamt about combining safaris with helping the local community, making tourism something that they could profit from.
Born and raised on the slopes of the majestic Mt Kilimanjaro, Deo spent his early years exploring nature and wildife and knowing even then that this is where he belonged.
Deo started out his career as a mechanic. After finishing his education in tourism he started working as a driver guide. Being employed for more than 10 years, Deo started to work as a freelance guide. In 2012 he started Lemasani Safari with his partner Sonia, making the dream of giving back to the community as well as working in tourism, come true.
Deo is fluent in Kiswahili, English and French and Lemasani’s absolutely best birding guide.

Sonia Moradian
Managing Director
I never knew I could fall so deeply in love with nature and wildife. Growing up in the Swedish archipelago, nature was always on the door step but it was not until I came to Tanzania that I realized how important it was to me. Being lucky enough to not only work in such an amazing country but to also have the chance to introduce and share the beauty with others is truly a dream come true.
Sonia grew up in Sweden with Armenian/Iranian heritage. Since 2011, Sonia has been studying, working and living across Tanzania, currently living in Arusha, near the Northern border. Sonia holds a bachelor in Education and Career & Guidance Counselling, having also studied a number of political science courses. Across 2011/12, Sonia did her research thesis on ‘the socioeconomic factors in choosing higher education’ in Dodoma, Tanzania. Together with her partner Deo, she runs Lemasani Safari.
Sonia is fluent in Swedish, English, Armenian, Farsi and Kiswahili.
